Kristie grew up in a home filled with animals, including dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and guinea pigs. When she graduated from Laurentian University with a English Literature degree, she did not expect to find a career that included her love of animals. She came to the clinic as a client, and was so touched by the level of emergency care her cat received that she decided to stay and join the team.
Kristie greets clients, weighs pets, reviews information with clients, and attends to many other tasks that keep the clinic running smoothly. Her favorite part of the job is meeting new pets and establishing a rapport with them so they feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit.
Kristie is the proud mother of three children. Her biggest baby is her 90-pound husky mix named Marlow who still likes to try to curl up in Mom’s lap. He is not the most graceful guy and tends to hurt himself on a regular basis. Fortunately, he can pop into the clinic if he needs to. Marlow’s little brother Phoenix is also a husky mix and loves to annoy his big brother. In her spare time, she and Marlow enjoy long walks through the bush. She is an avid writer, having written numerous poems and short stories, and loves to travel anywhere where there is sun and a white sandy beach.
