Meet Our Skilled Veterinary Team in Sudbury

Dr. Danyluk has had a passion for animals from an early age. Born and raised in Sudbury, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Biology in 2002 at Laurentian University, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. She was accompanied by Sammy, her senior Poodle mix.

Upon graduating in 2006, she returned to Sudbury to practice veterinary medicine. Dr. Danyluk has a special affection for senior pets and devotes much of her time to ensuring that they lead full and active lifestyles, free of pain and discomfort. Her work as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist has enabled many of her senior clients to feel better during their golden years.

Did you know that Dr. Danyluk’s heritage is half Ukrainian? She grew up heavily involved in the local Ukrainian community. Their dance group even travelled internationally for performances! In her spare time, Dr. Danyluk enjoys spending her time hiking the beautiful trails of Sudbury, gardening, reading, crocheting and practicing her violin and piano skills!

Dr. Chamberland was drawn to biology from an early age, but wasn’t sure if her patients would have two or four legs. In her last year at Laurentian University, her dog Jessie was struck by an out-of-control car while Dr. Chamberland was holding her leash. Fortunately, Jessie survived. The attending veterinarian allowed her to observe Jessie’s treatment, and Dr. Chamberland found her calling.

After completing her studies at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Dr. Chamberland returned home to Sudbury to practice veterinary medicine. Dr. Chamberland finds great satisfaction in performing non-invasive diagnostic techniques to find answers for ailments that might otherwise go undiagnosed. She completed specialized training in ultrasonography in 2008.

Dr. Chamberland’s absolute favorite holiday is Christmas. Spending time with family and reading by the lights of her Christmas tree are her favorite things to do (and being Ukrainian means she gets to celebrate twice!) As much as Dr. Chamberland loves the beauty of fall colors, summer is her favorite season. With her family, she has made such wonderful memories camping throughout and exploring the beauty of Northern Ontario.

Dr. Alana graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), this year, and is now officially our newest Doctor! (Go Topaz Turtles!)
We are so happy to finally welcome her to our team. Dr. Santagapita is another home town girl and grew up in Sudbury and, like many of us, enjoy the simpler things in life like being with friends and family, being outdoors, especially when camping or fishing. She also likes to spend some quiet time at home watching reality tv.
If she can pick only one holiday she would chose Christmas, because this is the only acceptable time where she watch her favorite movie "ELF".

Lhea grew up in rural Northern Ontario and would never dream of living anywhere else. She has always had a love for all animals which is why, from a very young age, she chose to work in the veterinary field.

Lhea graduated from the Veterinary Technician (Techniques de Soins Veterinaires) program at College Boreal in 2004. She is also a certified dog trainer, having completed her training with Canada’s own Brad Pattison of Hustle Up Training back in 2014.

If you can’t find Lhea at the clinic, be sure to check out the baseball field or arena. (She plays for fun and doesn’t think she’s very good, but we beg to differ 🙂 ) In between games you will find her knitting or crocheting. And to finish a long day, Lhea will cuddle up with her three children and watch a movie or read a book.

Keyana graduated from the veterinary technician course at College Boreal in 2021.

When Keyana is not working you will find her hiking the trails with her Golden Retriever, Carson, or hanging out with her friends. If she didn’t have to work for money, Keyana would explore the world with Carson and her two cats Mason and Willy.

Mikela has recently passed her registration exam and is our newest RVT!!!!! She graduated from the vet tech program at College Boreal in 2021 then went on to graduate from the Companion Animal Physical Rehabilitation Program from Northern College in 2022.

Her favorite season is fall because she loves seeing the trees change colors and bring out and snuggling under her warm, cozy, knit blankets while reading a book or listening to music. She also enjoys spending time at camp and being with her family and friends.

Gabrielle is born and raised in the Sudbury area and graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at College Boreal in 2021. She is very creative and enjoys spending time making art, paintings, drawing her inspirations and writing novels with her dog Bella and cats, Nox and Sarafina by her side. Her favorite season is winter as she loves skating and drinking hot chocolate.

The newest addition to the Barrydowne Animal Hospital team is Amberleigh! Amberleigh is from southern Ontario but has lived in Sudbury for the last few years. She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially in the Spring since all the critters are out and about and, as a fellow plant lover, she likes see all the new blooms that come out to start off the warmer seasons!

Meet Emma, she is the newest addition to the Barrydowne Animal Hospital team, and we are so happy to have her as our Veterinary Assistant. She has an undergraduate degree in Zoology from Laurentian University and completed a Master of Science in Clinical Studies at the University of Guelph. Emma loves spending time outdoors with family and friends, especially during the fall when she can enjoy the beautiful scenery as the leaves change colors and the weather cools down.
